Vietnam's Traditional Pattern - Phoenix

After the field trip to Hoi An - Viet Nam at the end of 2018, I did this project. Inspired by the patterns on the architecture, furniture, especially in the old house, I choose the phoenix pattern for my project.

Why do I choose Phoenix instead of a different pattern in many diverse patterns in Hoi An? The reason is simple, because I like the curving lines of the feathers, the softness of the shape, above all the symbolic meaning of hope and rebirth.
